Marka Gucci wykorzystuje memy do reklamy. Wśród twórców... Polka!

2017-03-21 18:30

Marka Gucci postanowiła wykorzystać popularność memów i stworzyła z nich kampanię reklamową nowej kolekcji zegarów.

Pomysł został oparty na skrócie "That Feel When”/ “That Feeling When” (To uczucie kiedy...)", co doskonale pasuje do charakteru memów. Memy Gucci stworzyli różni artyści, wśród których znalazła się nawet Polka - Paulina Ołowska! Jak wam się podoba ten pomysł na kampanię reklamową?

#TFWGucci @egeislekel appropriates sculptures and paintings from art history to make his graphic works. Both referential and completely contemporary, they delight in the collision of popular culture and fine art. As a visual joke, Islekel superimposes van Gogh’s visage over famous album covers. His #TFWGucci memes play with Neo-Classicist paintings, brought to life by captions from @youvegotnomale and @champagneemojis that namecheck art history as well as 21st century romance. - Text by @helenh0lmes #LeMarchédesMerveilles. #TFWGucci @pollynor is a one-woman meme machine. Focused on women, demons, and the societal sexism, her drawings have hilarious insights that make you want to hit “like” and then be her best friend. She reclaims devilry as powerfully feminine. Her idea of the perfect funeral hymn? “Glamorous” by Fergie, feat. Ludacris. If you’ve ever promised yourself you’d start saving up like a responsible adult only to blow it off when faced with an accessory you can’t resist, Polly Nor is the artist for you. - Text by @tatianaberg #TFWGucci #LeMarchédesMerveilles. #TFWGucci Derek Lucas, AKA @champagneemojis was inspired by the super-recent Arthur meme — the cartoon aardvark represents utter frustration with a clenched fist. New York-based photographer Benjamin Langford (@blangblang92) reinterpreted the meme through his own lens. Langford shoots flowers with a languorous, detached gaze, printing them larger-than-life. They represent the elusive illusion of authentic experience, a tantalizing beauty never quite reachable. For #TFWGucci, a #LeMarchédesMerveilles watch on his wrist and a bunch of flowers in his fist, Arthur is still frustrated. - Text by @kchayka. Discover more through link in bio.

#TFWGucci Goth Shakira @gothshakira is a Montreal-based artist whose Instagram meme account is inspired by Latin American style and queer culture. Mingling Spanish and English, Goth Shakira’s memes are collages with a message about feminism, freedom, and creativity. She consciously pushes the boundaries of memes into visual art, participating in panels and exhibitions that frame digital artifacts as just another, equally important part of physical culture. — @kchayka Discover more through link in bio.

#TFWGucci Collage artist @edouardtaufenbach, takes a serialized tack when constructing his kaleidoscopic, hand-glued collections of photographs. The artist’s work for #TFWGucci is nostalgic, winsome, and abstract. Interpreting the image, @cabbagecatmemes (John Trulli) finds a commentary on waiting for friends to go out one night. - Text by @helenh0lmes Read more through link in bio.

#TFWGucci German artist collective @decorhardcore, born out of a desire to collect and curate strange pictures of furniture, is a creative endeavor run by magpie documentarians. Founder Ksenia Shestakovski and her collaborators make art that renders fantasy tangible, with starkly lit images of seemingly mundane artifacts like hotel beds, antique lamps, and elaborate doilies. The collective’s #TFWGucci pictures, haunting and memorable, are reminiscent of commercial furniture store catalogues: every vivid color and sharp corner oozes frenetic anticipation. @Beigecardigan turns the images into memes that reflect on the fashion world, where supposed ugliness can often become beauty. - Text by @helenh0lmes Discover more through link in bio.

#TFWGucci Polish artist #paulinaolowska isn't afraid of the past, it’s her prime obsession. Growing up in the 1980s, she witnessed first-hand Poland’s transition from communism to capitalism, and ever since has explored the personal and political meanings of memory and change. She remixes history, taking inspiration from archival materials such as Soviet-era fashion postcards, to create her series “Applied Fantastic”. For #TFWGucci, she updates this series with the help of a caption by @williamcult (designer William Ndatila). Nostalgia can be a weapon, if you hold it right. – Text by @newterritories Read more through link in bio.

#TFWGucci The work of LA-based artist @amanda_charchian is characterized by her uniquely female-focused approach to the Surrealist tradition. With mysterious, witchy characters—think a crystal-incrusted spider sculpture that trembles in the wind, or a circle of ginger women linked together by their braided hair—they’re impossible to forget. It’s no wonder that her career spans both the fine art and commercial fashion world, and has included both gallery shows and editorial commissions for Vogue Italia. Her collaborative memes for #TFWGucci with the hilarious @textsfromyourexistentialist create a feminine duo: sensual, funny, and unapologetic, with an underlying darkness from the eponymous philosophy. - Text by @tatianaberg.
